10 days ago: MADRID, SPAIN - APRIL 16: Andres Iniesta of Barcelona celebrates after Barcelona scored a goal during the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on April 16, 2011 in Madrid, Spain. (Photo by Denis Doyle/Getty Images)
"In Spain, the population of Catalonia don't consider themselves Spanish," said Adi-Oula Sebastian. "When the General Franco dictatorship forbade the use of regional dialects, the Camp Nou (Barcelona's home stadium) became one of the few places Catalans were allowed to speak their language, without having to fear repercussions."
Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has recovered from a muscle strain and will play in Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first leg at Real Madrid. Fellow defender Gabriel Milito is also fit but Brazilian full-back Maxwell misses out with a groin strain. Real have defensive issues of their own with centre-back Ricardo Carvalho suspended for the first match.
Rossi, though, is somewhat angered by the persistence of the media and has once again stressed his desire to honour his contract, which expires in 2016. "It is a lack of respect to be talking about it every day," said Rossi. "I will reiterate once again that I don't know anything about it (a potential Barcelona bid).
Iniesta doubtful for Clasico | Goal
The midfielder has picked up a knock ahead of the crunch semi-final meeting with Jose Mourinho’s men and is expected to start from the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu
But Mourinho, who led Inter Milan to victory in last year's edition of Europe's elite club competition before moving to Spain, pointed out that he was the same coach who suffered a 5-0 La Liga drubbing at Barca's hands at the Nou Camp in November. "They are a top team with a top coach and everything is possible," he said. "I am exactly the same coach who lost 5-0 to Barcelona and I don't have any magic potion."
Congratulations are in order for Real Madrid star Kaka, whose wife gave birth to a girl on Saturday evening in Brazil. Caroline Celico gave birth to baby Isabella at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, the couple's first child following the birth of their son Luca in June 2008.

10 days ago: MADRID, SPAIN - APRIL 16: Head coach Jose Mourinho (R) of Real Madrid throws the ball backdropped by head coach Josep Guardiola of Barcelona during the la Liga match between Real Madrid and Barcelona at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on April 16, 2011 in Madrid, Spain. Here we go again, Round 3 of the El Clasico World Series. After a dull draw in La Liga, a painful defeat in the Copa del Rey final, FC Barcelona are in dire need of a clear victory. Even though their season is far from derailing, let alone a disappointment, something is way off in Catalunya. Just a week ago there were talks of a second treble, but within a matter of days the world of FC Barcelona has been turned upside down.
The momentum has shifted towards FC Barcelona’s eternal rivals, Real Madrid. While it is admirable how Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola goes about his business, he has yet to find an answer to Jose Mourinho’s defensive set-up. I’m not suggesting a radical new game-plan, just a couple of adjustments here and there. Twice did Pep Guardiola name the very same starting XI, to no avail.
Furthermore, the confidence of Los Blancos and their supporters is sky-high whereas Culés have a rather cautious than convinced outlook on the immediate future. It’s not all lost in Barcaland but it could be A LOT better. Let’s see how the Blaugranes team (Arron Duckling, Paul Udani, Gabriel Roberts, Bostjan Cernensek, Shehryar Khan and moi) evaluates FC Barcelona’s chances for tomorrow’s game.
Will FC Barcelona be able to tackle Real Madrid into submission, at the Santiago Bernabeu no less?
Arron Duckling: In a nutshell, no. I think Real Madrid are close to unbeatable, given the current circumstances. Many of these Barca players are feeling the effects of 3/4 full years of non-stop playing, with little to no rest in between. Not only are key players injured or working their way back to full fitness, but Los Blancos are peaking, operating at the peak of their powers under a manager who has successfully installed a siege mentality.

"The team is as united as ever and will give its all on the pitch"
Laura Navas / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell
Sergio Ramos embodies the spirit of the Real Madrid squad prior to the Champions League semifinals against Barcelona. The defender and second team captain analysed the coming fixtures with the eternal foe.
Great victory against Valencia on Saturday. The team played a serious and solid game.
I’m happy with, and proud of, the team we have. I believe all Madridistas who saw the game enjoyed themselves watching footballers who normally don’t get a chance to play. They proved this side doesn’t just have eleven important players. We are all equally important and we live up to expectations on the pitch. Kaka, Canales, Granero and Higuain played at Mestalla. The latter has just recovered from a serious injury and was very excited to be starter. They all responded.Regular starters are probably even more excited to play in the Champions League. The entire squad is focused on the semifinals…
It is essential for us to reach such a crucial stage in the campaign, and it is important that all men on the squad get playing time. We all have the same excitement and we all want to help out. The squad as a whole is what really matters, not individual players. The team is more united than ever and we all want to accomplish important things. We are on the right path. We proved it at Mestalla and we do so in every training session. The support of the Bernabeu will be essential once more against Barcelona.
That’s right. We are all very proud of the crowd’s response this season. There was a change during the campaign by which our fans became even more devoted and excited. It happened when we faced Olympique Lyonnais, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona at the Bernabeu. It’s the fans who have to score the first goal for us. Every visiting side at the Bernabeu has to be weary of the atmosphere. They must really be aware of what it means to play at a stadium like ours. Our fans are essential to us and they are the ones we are really grateful to.How do you expect the Bernabeu to react on Wednesday?
You don’t expect less than what it’s been like in recent games because you get used to that. The response of the crowd is essential to us. We expect the Bernabeu to embrace its team, to give us support to the very last minute and to never doubt we will give our all on the pitch. I believe that is precisely what the fans are grateful for. Those are the values the club instills and we must showcase them on the pitch. How is the squad feeling before such an important game?
It is more united than ever. We are all extremely excited about the times we are living. The Champions League is a very important competition and it is at stake for us. Now is when we must show everyone how excited we are. How’s Mourinho doing?
He is as relaxed as he always is. The coach never changes his philosophy, style and habits. He has a clear idea of what he wants and we will continue to work in the same way. We will not modify our work for any team. The match on Wednesday will be important, but not decisive. You will then face Barcelona at Camp Nou in the return leg.
That’s something we must always have in mind. This is a 180-minute game. The work we’ve been doing so far and our knowledge of our opponent will make us play similarly to our first two games against them, but we must realise it is a 180-minute game. What worries you the most about this match?
Given the fact that it’s a Champions League semifinal against Barcelona, what I most want is for the game to be clean, healthy and sportsman like. I’d like people to avoid exaggerating injuries or fouls, and for the referee to be completely impartial to both sides. People even criticized a correct call the ref made at the end of the Copa del Rey final, which I think is too much. Above all, I’d like Madridismo and all football fans to enjoy this celebration of the sport. This will be the third Clasico this month, but expectations and excitement are as high as ever.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have great players and no one knows what will happen. We all know of the responsibility we have and what it takes to defend these crests. We will have to give our all to win.Is there a favorite in these games?
We don’t regard ourselves as favourites because we won’t earn anything by assuming so. I believe it’s been simplicity, humility and hard work that have taken us this far. Those are the values we must uphold.LA LIGA TOP ASSISTS

JUST BEFORE EL CLASICO
As for Wednesday’s game plan, Iniesta said “we know how to do things right and know how to counter the good things about Madrid … we have to be solid at the back and have to attack well in order to win the game and score goals.” Naturally, the main objective is to get a good result to boost their chances in the return leg at the Camp Nou.
“It will be tough and difficult”, admitted the midfielder. “But we have a positive attitude and are very excited to know that we have come so close to playing in another final”.

Real Madrid - Cristiano Ronaldo
He along with Messi just can't stop scoring. Ronaldo is like the hit man for Madrid scoring goals, mesmerizing the people who watch him and bringing down defenders with his quick feet. On his good day he can be the man that no one can touch and he can kick the ball which the goal keeper can't touch.
Barcelona - Lionel Messi
His goal tally has reached 48 for this season which is the new record in Spanish league and all he does is drops his shoulder turns left then right and just helps the ball into the net. And the best part is everyone knows this but no one can stop him. For me he is the angel who glides over the green turf and the ball is his disciple which doesn't go away from him.
Whole game can just be described in the following words:
